The city of La Plata is advancing with the transformation of Avenida 60 in the locality of Los Hornos, where a package of works is being carried out that includes complete repaving, hydraulic improvements, and new public lighting. The intervention is part of the Public Works and Urban Maintenance Plan, which aims to prioritize access roads and avenues of the district. According to the Argentine News Agency, the tasks include the complete replacement of the pavement, the construction of curbs, the installation of drains and stormwater conduits, and the renovation of sidewalks on different stretches, with the objective of reducing flooding on rainy days and improving the circulation of public transport. Additionally, LED luminaires and horizontal and vertical signage will be installed to strengthen road safety in an area with heavy traffic of private and collective vehicles, which connects Los Hornos with the urban center and other localities of La Plata. From the municipal Executive, they maintain that the work "revalues a strategic corridor" and complements other interventions on secondary accesses.
